His stepmother Ann was arrested on the spot; his father Buck made a break for it and managed to elude the police for a few hours. He was eventually arrested and charged not only with running a house of prostitution but also with resisting arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly enough, his escape meant a lack of evidence during the original arrests, and the charge of running a house of prostitution was <a title=\"5 of 10 Vice Raid Counts Dismissed\" href=\"http:\/\/www.becomingrichardpryor.com\/pryors-peoria\/1965\/11\/10\/5-of-10-vice-raid-counts-dismissed\/\">eventually dropped.<\/a> He did, however, have to pay the smaller $20 fine for resisting arrest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The home of Richard&#8217;s father and stepmother at 409 Aiken Ave was raided in September of 1965.
