The case of Elmer Poos and his former lover and prostitute Peggy Deaver was no exception.<\/p>\n<p>Poos, a longtime criminal, was on trial for interstate prostitution charges \u2014 felony charges, not easily swept under the rug as in old Peoria \u2014 and Deaver was a compromised witness against him.
