Fifteen policemen manned the doors into Manual High School to prevent 120 black student demonstrators from returning to school the day after Peoria’s mass student protest. Male teachers checked IDs of each student seeking to get in to ensure that none of the demonstrators entered the school.<\/p>\n
Upon hearing they were suspended for three additional days, the demonstrators proceeded to protest outside the school all morning.<\/p>\n
The handful of white Manual High students who did protest alongside the black demonstrators yesterday did not\u00a0receive\u00a0suspensions and were allowed to return to school.<\/p>\n
No\u00a0suspensions\u00a0were issued for the 87 students from Roosevelt Junior High School who had demonstrated the day before.<\/p>\n
