Day and Harold Parker went back and forth in the courts for two years, with Day arguing he had the authority to overrule a state liquor commission in his municipality.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, the appellate\u00a0court supported Day&#8217;s\u00a0bid to deny Parker his livelihood, part of the Mayor&#8217;s larger project of cleaning up Peoria.
