The home of Richard’s father and stepmother at 409 Aiken Ave was raided in September of 1965. His stepmother Ann was arrested on the spot; his father Buck made a break for it and managed to elude the police for a few hours. He was eventually arrested and charged not only with running a house of prostitution but also with resisting arrest.

Surprisingly enough, his escape meant a lack of evidence during the original arrests, and the charge of running a house of prostitution was eventually dropped. He did, however, have to pay the smaller $20 fine for resisting arrest.
