After his divorce from Marie Carter in 1922, Roy Pryor continued to be enmeshed in violence. Nick Economos, the proprietor of the restaurant where Pryor worked as a cook, was charged with intent to kill Roy Pryor after he drew a gun on Pryor in an argument.
The case against Economos was dismissed by a judge who determined that Pryor had assaulted Economos with a heavy cooking utensil.
